The Air Force of Ukraine has its own unique insignia of armband patches, which certify their affiliation with the Ukrainian military. These insignia were used by the air force of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Galician Army, and are a symbol of more than a century of Ukrainian aviation history.
The shape of these marks resembles the silhouette of an airplane, which symbolizes the military strength and power of the Ukrainian Air Force. The color of the blue patch reflects the colors of the Ukrainian flag and symbolizes the sky under which Ukrainian pilots work and defend their country.
During the Russian aggression in 2022, the Air Force managed to save most of its aircraft and helicopters and inflicted significant losses on enemy columns that tried to capture Ukrainian cities. They demonstrated their high combat readiness and effectiveness in defending our country, confirming their right to well-deserved honor and recognition.
